Getting started
What is Vouch?
Vouch is a tool for small businesses to collect testimonials from customers and display them on their website as an embedded widget. You share a link, your customer fills out a short form, you approve the testimonial, and a widget on your site shows it automatically. No developer needed.
How long does it take to get set up?
About 5 minutes from signup to a live widget. Create an account, copy your collect link, share it with one customer, approve their testimonial, paste one line of code on your site. That's it. The
quick start guide walks you through it step by step.
Do I need a developer to use Vouch?
No. The only technical step is pasting one line of embed code into your site — the same kind of thing you'd do to add a Google Analytics script or a Facebook Pixel. If you can paste into your site's HTML, you can add Vouch. There are specific guides for
Shopify and
Squarespace.
What websites does Vouch work with?
Any website where you can add HTML. This includes Shopify, Squarespace, Webflow, Wix, WordPress, custom HTML sites, and more. If your platform lets you add custom scripts or HTML blocks, Vouch works.
Collecting testimonials
How do customers submit testimonials?
You share a unique "collect" link with them. When they open it, they see a simple form: name, email (optional), star rating, and their testimonial text. It works on any device, takes about 2 minutes, and requires no account or login on their end.
Do my customers need to create an account?
No. Customers just click the link, fill out the form, and submit. No sign-up, no password, no friction.
What's the best way to ask customers for a testimonial?
Ask right after a positive interaction — when you've just delivered a project, made a sale, or got positive feedback. A direct, personal message works best. Something like:
"Hey [name] — would you mind leaving a quick testimonial? Takes 2 minutes: [link]" See our full guide:
How to ask for a testimonial (with scripts).
Can I approve testimonials before they go live?
Yes. Every submitted testimonial sits in your dashboard as "pending" until you approve it. Nothing goes live on your site without your say-so. You can also edit testimonials (with permission from the submitter) before approving.
Can I import existing testimonials I already have?
Yes. From your dashboard you can manually add testimonials — great for moving over reviews you've collected via email, Google, or other platforms.
The widget
What does the widget look like?
Vouch offers several layouts: a rotating carousel, a multi-column grid, and a single featured testimonial. All are clean, minimal, and mobile-responsive. You can customize colors and font styles to match your brand.
How do I add the widget to my site?
Copy the embed snippet from your dashboard — it looks like this:
<script src="https://cdn.socialproof.dev/widget.js" data-widget-id="YOUR_ID"></script>
Paste it anywhere in your site's HTML. The widget loads automatically and updates in real-time as you approve new testimonials.
Will the widget slow down my website?
No. The widget loads asynchronously — it doesn't block your page from loading. It's served from a CDN, so it loads fast regardless of where your visitors are.
Does the widget update automatically when I approve a new testimonial?
Yes. When you approve a testimonial in your dashboard, it appears in the widget on your site automatically. No re-embedding, no code changes.
Pricing
Is Vouch really free?
Yes. The free plan is free forever — 1 active widget, up to 25 testimonials, no credit card required. No trial period, no expiry date. You can use it indefinitely.
What's included in the free plan?
1 active widget with up to 25 testimonials. You get the collect link, approval workflow, and the embed widget. Everything you need to get started and show social proof on your site.
What does the paid plan add?
The Pro plan ($9/mo) adds: multiple widgets (for different pages or products), unlimited testimonials, analytics, custom branding (remove the Vouch badge), and Google rich results (star ratings in search).
How does Vouch compare to Trustpilot or Senja?
Vouch is built specifically for small businesses that want to own their testimonials — not depend on a third-party review platform. Testimonials live on your site, not on Trustpilot's. There's no per-seat pricing, no minimum spend, and no review gating. See our comparisons:

Privacy & data
Who owns the testimonials?
You do. Your testimonials are stored in your account and displayed via your widget. Vouch does not republish, resell, or use your testimonials for anything other than powering your embed.
What data do you collect from my customers?
Only what they voluntarily submit: name, email address (optional), star rating, and testimonial text. Email addresses are stored securely and used only to associate the testimonial with the submitter. We don't market to your customers.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. You can delete your account from the settings page. All your data — widgets, testimonials, and customer submissions — is permanently deleted.
