Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Vouch, operated by the Vouch team ("we", "us", "our"), available at socialproof.dev. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Vouch is

Vouch is a software service that lets you collect written testimonials from your customers and display them on your website via an embeddable widget. We provide the tools; the content belongs to you and your customers.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to bind yourself or your business to these Terms.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You're responsible for all activity under your account.
One person or business entity per account. You may not share accounts.
You may delete your account at any time from the settings page.

3. Acceptable use

You may use Vouch for any legitimate business purpose. You may NOT:

Fabricate or post testimonials that are not genuine experiences from real customers.
Use Vouch to collect reviews for businesses you don't own or operate.
Send spam or unsolicited mass messages using Vouch collection links.
Use Vouch in any way that violates applicable laws, including FTC guidelines on endorsements and testimonials.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or resell Vouch's software or infrastructure.
Interfere with the service or other users' use of it.

FTC note: You are responsible for complying with FTC guidelines when displaying testimonials. This includes displaying results that are typical, disclosing material connections, and not selectively editing testimonials in a misleading way. Vouch provides tools; legal compliance is your responsibility.

4. Content ownership

Your testimonials: You own the content submitted to your collection forms. We store it and serve it on your behalf.
Customer submissions: Your customers own what they write. By using your collection link, they grant you a license to display their words on your website.
Your responsibility: If a customer asks you to remove their testimonial, you must honor that request promptly.
We don't claim ownership over any content you or your customers create.

5. Plans and payment

Free plan: Free forever. Includes 1 active widget and up to 25 testimonials. No credit card required.
Pro plan: $9/month. Includes unlimited widgets, unlimited testimonials, analytics, custom branding, and Google rich results support.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By upgrading, you agree to Stripe's terms.
Pro subscriptions renew monthly. You can cancel at any time; you keep Pro access until the end of the billing period.
No refunds for partial months, but contact us if something went wrong and we'll make it right.

6. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes to the service. We'll communicate planned downtime when possible.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity.

7. Limitation of liability

Vouch is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Vouch harmless from claims arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. We'll notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes take effect 14 days after notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Disputes will be resolved in good faith first; if that fails, through binding arbitration.
