How to Add Testimonials to Your Carrd Site

Carrd is the go-to for simple, fast single-page websites. If you’re a freelancer, coach, or small business owner with a Carrd site, you know how clean and no-fuss it is.

The one thing Carrd doesn’t give you out of the box: a live testimonials feed. Here’s how to get real customer quotes onto your Carrd site.

The Fastest Way: Embed a Widget

Carrd supports embedded code on their Pro plan ($19/year). If you’re on Pro, you can drop in a testimonials widget that pulls from your approved reviews automatically.

Steps:

  1. Create a free account at SocialProof
  2. Share your collection link with past customers
  3. Approve the testimonials you want to show
  4. Copy your embed snippet
  5. In Carrd, add an Embed element to your page
  6. Paste the SocialProof script into the embed code field
  7. Publish your Carrd site

Your testimonials appear immediately, styled to blend in with any design. New approvals show up without re-publishing.

If You’re on Carrd’s Free Plan

Free Carrd doesn’t support embeds. You have two options:

Option A: Upgrade to Carrd Pro ($19/year is one of the better deals in web hosting) and use the embed approach above.

Option B: Hardcode your testimonials. Carrd lets you add text elements with any content. You can manually paste 2–3 of your best quotes as styled text blocks. This won’t update automatically, but it works and costs nothing.

To hardcode: Add a Text element. Format it with the quote in a larger font, and the reviewer’s name below. Add another text element per quote. Use Carrd’s column layout to put 2–3 side by side.

What to Write When You Don’t Have Testimonials Yet

If you’re just starting out and your Carrd site is a landing page for a new offering, here’s a fast way to get your first testimonials:

  1. Email 5 past clients or customers with a direct ask: “I’m updating my site — would you share a sentence or two about working together?”
  2. Share your SocialProof collection link so they can submit in one click
  3. Approve the submissions you want to go live
  4. Embed the widget

You can often get 3–5 testimonials back within 24–48 hours from happy past clients.

Tips for Testimonials on a Carrd Site

Brevity is everything. Carrd sites are minimal by design. Your testimonials section should match: short quotes, clean presentation.

Put it near your CTA. If your Carrd site has one purpose (book a call, hire me, sign up), put testimonials just above that CTA button.

Use real names. “Jane D., Austin TX” beats “Anonymous.” The more specific, the more credible.

One or two strong quotes beats ten mediocre ones. Quality over quantity, especially on a one-pager.
